Hey all, hope you had a wonderful week. Also hope you have some wonderful weekend stuff to do. My daughter and I are taking a special trip this weekend and I will share more about that soon.

Neighbors, friends and family can be very special. Maybe two months ago my neighbor, lives about 6 houses down the street came by to introduce himself. Jesse stopped by one evening, told me he had heard about my brain tumor, wanted to meet me and offered a few things that have been very nice.

Jesse and I have been to breakfast and yesterday evening, the 16th he took me fishing for a few hours. He had offered that when we first met but I wasn’t feeling great at that point and had not taken him up on it. I saw him early in the week as he was walking his dog’s and he said any time you are ready we can go fish. That day I thought, there was a time I loved to fish, it’s literally 10 minutes away to get to his boat dock and the weather was nice, I should go try this. So we set it up for Thursday evening.

Wow, we caught well over 50, Stripped Bass, Crappie and Cat Fish. I could not believe how many fish we caught. It was a beautiful evening, the fishing was amazing and it was, 10 Minutes From My House….. It was a special evening.

The fish were great and it reminded me of several things.

I started fishing when I was 8 years old in Rogersville, Missouri. I always enjoyed it so much. Often I fished by myself and that seemed normal. I believe going to this big pond by our house was my escape. I was by myself, doing something I loved and didn’t have to worry about some of the challenges of my life at that time. It was always a great escape!

I have always enjoyed being outdoors. There was rarely anyone else fishing at this large pond. So this was time out in God’s creation, enjoying the beauty of His world. That is still so true today. I love being out in the beautiful world we live in.

The one thing I have done since that major surgery over 4 months ago is walk outside. I have been walking 5-6 miles a day. Rarely listen to anything, simply walk, think a little and enjoy God’s creation. Fishing has always been another way to do this.

Last night reminded me of two important things.

As long as I am living, try to do some simple things that are an amazing blessings in this life. We each get to decide what that is. Just don’t sit at home and shut down life. Keep living and enjoying all the experiences of living in this life we each have.

The second thing, is a reminder of how often we need other people to support us and at times walk with us. I am so grateful for people like Jesse. Here is a man that has not known me at all. This man has chosen to bless me and give me some support when he has literally know me for a couple of months.

I would need to take a little break sometimes last night when fishing. Jesse would keep fishing and reeling in more fish One of the greatest blessing was being reminded of how special people like Jesse truly are, and to sit and take in the beautiful nature of our creation. The sunset was gorgeous.

Remember,,,,,, “You are loved by God and of Great Value”
