Turning Colors
Hey My Friends, Hope each of you are doing very well.
Springtime is an interesting time of the year. I mention often, I take long walks each morning. For months, most mornings are a walk in cold, chilly weather. For the last several weeks, things are beginning to change. For several mornings I have walked early in shorts and a t-shirt. Mornings like today I am back in my warm jacket, stocking hat and gloves.
It is officially springtime in our part of the world. It seems like the winter has been milder this year. The noticeable difference for me has been the walks that start at 6:15, it is normally a little chilly even if it warms up later in the day. There is a very specific difference these days. This difference is hard to miss!
The leaves, flowers, and grass are changing and very noticeable. Today, when I took off, it was 39* outside. It was chilly, but that did not change my environment at all.
This time of the year is noticeable, encouraging, and beautiful. It also reminds me of a significant part of life that is for me these days, reality.
There are so many things in this life, I Have No Control Of!!!!!
Battling CANCER has taught me many, many things! Many of those things, I am honestly grateful for. Can’t say cancer is the way to notice many of these life events, but if you get some kind of disease, seeing life a little different is not all bad.
Maybe the weather change is simply part of this life. It is out of my control. That reality teaches me, “there are many things out of my control.”
I continue to think often about, “what are things I have some control of?” I want to focus more on those areas of my life. I also want to learn and get better at letting go of areas I have no control.
What about you? What do you tend to put much of your time and energy into each day. Is that areas you actually have some control or areas you honestly can do nothing about?
Let me encourage you to go take a walk each morning! I find it a valuable time of the day to think about ways I am blessed, things I truly need to focus on and get done. It also has taught me to let go of things I have no control and “be grateful and live today!”
You can also use some of that walk time to remember,,,,,,,, “You are Loved and of Great Value!”
Peace,
