Update

Hey My Friends, hope all is well!

Here in Texas we have experienced warmer spring time weather but also seem to be competing with Oklahoma, WIND!!! I am not a fan of wind and it seems to be rather constant around here lately. Oh well out of my control and hoping at some point it will settle down.

I am always behind on this, but today I want to share two things and hopefully get back on here sooner.

April 7th I had one of my big checkups. It was all great news. The brain tumor is still doing nothing and the Dr was very positive. He shared something he never has shared. He said there are some who live well for 2+ years. He believes I am one of those guys.

I am in month 17 of the diagnosis, the 13 month since the surgery. He said I am very healthy and everything is looking good. He thinks I will be around for a while. I am grateful for that. He really does not seem to like saying stuff like that because nobody knows. He does know so far I have been healthy and nothing has started back up.

The way this started I did not think I would be around for this long. I am trying to fix my attitude a little. None of us know how long we will be around. Today my health is doing well. I am two days into my “LAST” chemo round. It takes 4-6 weeks to get the chemo out of my system and I will be feeling the best I have felt since that surgery the last day of March 2021. I am fired up to start feeling well for as long as I have!!!!

My last post I mentioned that the Kansas Jayhawks were about to play the Championship Game against the North Carolina Tar Heels.

That was one of the greatest games I have ever watched. The Jayhawks were way down at halftime. Being completely honest. I felt like they still had a chance. I watched them many, many times this year and it was rare to see them play to great halves. Sure enough they came back, played one of the greatest 2nd halves of basketball I have ever seen and won, the National Championship.

I watched ever second of that game, standing up in front of the TV the last couple of minutes and wanted to scream and cheer when it was over. I have been a huge basketball fan for as much of my life that I remember. That was an amazing game and so much fun to watch.

Shelly Self Anderson, made that game even better. She made a plan for, Michael, Mason and myself to watch a game live in Kansas this year. It was an amazing experience for me to sit in some of the best seats in one of the most historic basketball gyms. We sat with Shelly, got to go back and visit with Bill after the game. Was a wonderful experience and made them winning the Championship that much better this year.

I have honestly been choosing Kansas in every bracket to win the title every time, since Bill started coaching in Kansas. Did not fill out a bracket this year but that was Bill’s second championship. Go look at his coaching history and he has been one of the most successful college coaches in history. It was fun to be a fan this year for many reasons.

Shelly, thanks for all you did for me and the boys this year. It made the Kansas Championship even better.

Okay, stopping there today. Hoping to be back sooner to share some other wonderful things going on right now.

Until next time remember, You are “LOVED AND OF GREAT VALUE”.
